Gina Nair

Inclusion Lead and DSL at Barn Croft Primary

Consultant: Inclusion Support Partner

I have worked in both mainstream and special school settings supporting children with additional needs for 18 years. Having completed degrees in Psychology, before a PGCE, I have developed a background fostered by a passion for disseminating behaviour to understand what it is communicating. My goal is for children to feel empowered to make choices and similarly to support their adults to understand that a primary connection can lead a pathway to learning. I like to focus on connections involving the whole school community to embed inclusion and support and look at the building blocks to build a whole.

Skill set:

Having worked in a few one form entry schools in Waltham Forest, I have become accustomed to constraints and problem solving to maximise support for children within smaller staffing teams. My current school has an above national average of SEND. This has allowed me to build strong relationships with teams within the local authority that have supported my school over the last 5 years.  I have led on Science, PSHE, RSE and Inclusion, completed my Nasenco qualification and I am a Trauma Informed Practitioner.
