Dr James Lane began his teaching career in Australia in the 90s before moving to England in 1997 to teach in a Hertfordshire primary school. Over the last twenty years, he has held headship in four challenging and diverse London schools and now serves as Executive Headteacher of St Francis de Sales Catholic Federation in Tottenham and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary in Hendon. His leadership has been described by Ofsted as “assured and visionary” and “inspirational”. He is committed to ethical, inclusive leadership and improving outcomes for children and families in disadvantaged communities.

Skill set:

An experienced executive headteacher across multiple schools and local authorities, with a strong track record in school improvement and system leadership. Former course lead for the Future Leaders programme (Ambition Institute), Fellow of the Institute for Equity in Society and Education, and previously worked as an school advisor for Haringey local authority.
