HEP undertakes work around safeguarding in terms of a universal offer to schools. Our remit and aims are to ensure that schools’ systems and procedures are robust and compliant and rooted in good procedure and practice. This is part of HEP membership offer and comes at no additional cost to member schools.

HEP also manages the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) networks who lead the Schools DSL forums and work with the Local Authority.

The Forum generally meet every half term. The forums are a means by which local needs are shared and information delivered from the LA Social and Educational Services. Alongside this, national speakers beyond Haringey deliver on pertinent subjects keeping our school DSLs up to date on the latest developments and issues in regard to safeguarding in schools.
