The Governors wish to appoint an experienced teaching assistant to join our friendly and supportive staff and children who are eager to learn and achieve. We are seeking a caring and dedicated individual to support pupils. Candidates will preferably have experience working with phonics and hold GCSE level maths and English qualifications, while also having the ability to use their initiative.

Working at OLM will provide you the opportunity to work in our diverse community with children who are highly engaged in their learning. We have been graded as Outstanding (OFSTED November 2017) and can offer you a supportive and highly skilled staff to work alongside.

Tetherdown Primary School

POSITION: Special Needs Assistant (Early Years)

GRADE & SALARY: Scale 4 Point 7 to Point 10 – £10,126 to £10,682

CONTRACT: 17.5 hours per week (8.30 am – 12.00 noon)

Fixed term whilst the child remains at the school.

40 weeks per year, term time only

REQUIRED: 6th January 2020 (or as soon as possible)

Do you want to work in an excellent school with happy, fun loving children and a dedicated team of loyal staff? We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who would like to join our friendly and highly successful team.

You will need:

  • at least two years’ experience of working with children with SEND with significant difficulties. The level of experience relates specifically to either extensive experience of working with children on the autistic spectrum (non-verbal) or significant knowledge of children on the autistic spectrum
  • a qualification relevant to ASD comparable to NVQ Level 3 (or above), or a higher level qualification in ASD; MAKATON – level 2 (minimum); PECs
  • to be able to provide and deliver supporting strategies for a child with autism (non-verbal) and moderate learning difficulties within the classroom setting and on a 1:1 basis;
  • to develop supportive relationships with a child with Special Educational Needs and the class teacher and parents
  • good organisational skills;
  • good attendance and punctuality.

You will be working under the direction of the SENCo and the Class Teacher. (This post is to support a child with an EHC Plan. If the child leaves the school or if the EHC Plan is withdrawn by the Local Authority that issued it, then this contract will end forthwith.)

NURSERY NURSE WANTED

Scale 5 (8.30am to 4.00pm)

January 2020

We are looking for a Nursery Nurse to join our team to work as part of either the Nursery or Foundation Stage teams. You must have GCSE English and Maths plus hold a relevant NVQ qualification at Level 3 (equivalent qualifications are acceptable).

You will be required to work under the direction of the Class Teacher and the EYFS Lead Teacher;

Your duties will include:

  • Establishing productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations;
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom;
  • Working with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment;
  • Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and planned recording of achievement against pre-determined objectives;
  • Providing objective and accurate feedback and reports as required;
  • Being responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed with the teacher, contributing to reviews of systems / records as requested;
  • Taking a role in the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
