Mark Ellis is a highly experienced primary school teacher with nearly 20 years of teaching practice, working predominantly across schools in North London. He has taught extensively across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, developing a deep and nuanced understanding of the primary curriculum and the diverse needs of pupils in a wide range of educational settings. His extensive classroom experience is underpinned by a strong record of subject leadership and curriculum development.

Mark holds a science degree and is an Associate Teacher of the Royal Society, reflecting his commitment to high-quality, evidence-informed education. He has led mathematics, science and humanities across multiple schools and currently serves as the HEP/OW curriculum lead. In this role, he plays a central part in shaping a coherent, ambitious humanities curriculum that places history, geography and wider cultural understanding at its core. He is passionate about ensuring the humanities curriculum is inclusive, knowledge-rich and reflective of the communities schools serve, enabling children to understand the past, engage critically with the present and develop respect for diverse perspectives.

Alongside his humanities leadership, Mark has organised and overseen mathematics, science, computing and sustainability initiatives, ensuring strong cross-curricular links and meaningful learning experiences. A genuine enthusiast for all STEM subjects, he values the balance between scientific thinking and humanities-based learning, recognising the importance of both in developing well-rounded, thoughtful citizens.

Mark’s main aim is to unite communities through meaningful school partnerships and curriculum collaboration. He is committed to promoting respect, tolerance and understanding of others through education and has been instrumental in creating close-knit community groups and CPD networks that support teachers and leaders in improving practice. Through these collaborative networks, he encourages schools to work together, share expertise and collectively improve outcomes for children, always with a clear focus on building a better future through strong, inclusive education.

Mark has extensive teaching experience across KS1 and KS2. He has a deep knowledge of the primary curriculum and inclusive practice for diverse learners with proven subject leadership in mathematics, science and humanities. Mark also has a strong expertise in curriculum design and development across multiple schools, and is a specialist in developing coherent, ambitious humanities curricula with a strong focus on history, geography and cultural understanding.
