Celebrating exceptional primary outcomes in KS2 Attainment 24/25
On 11 December 2025, the Department for Education (DfE) released the revised Key Stage 2 24/25 attainment data. The data shows the continued strength and ambition within the London school system and also tells an incredible story of hard work and commitment from the teachers and leaders across Haringey, Enfield and Waltham Forest that is really worth celebrating.
While the London average remains high, notably higher than all other regions in Reading, Writing, and Maths at the Expected Standard (a remarkable 70% compared to 60-63% nationally), our North London partnership area is celebrating some truly exceptional achievements.

Haringey Ranks Among the Nation’s Best
We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Haringey schools, which stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best across the country:
- Expected Standard: Haringey matched the high London average, securing an outstanding 16th national ranking for pupils reaching the expected standard in Reading, Writing, and Maths (RWM).
- Greater Depth: High attainment is particularly strong, with Haringey schools achieving the 7th highest national ranking for pupils reaching Greater Depth in RWM.
This success is not accidental; it is a direct reflection of the dedication, expertise, and sustained school improvement effort led by our teachers, leaders, and governors across the system.
A Story of Accelerated Improvement
While the high rankings are a source of pride, the most significant metric of success is the rate of progress our children have achieved.
In a period where the national average saw a negative percentage point change from 2019 to 2025 (-3 percentage points), the collective effort across our partnership delivered a remarkable shift:
- Haringey: Achieved a substantial +4 percentage point change, tying for the 3rd largest positive shift in the country.
- Enfield: Recorded a strong +3 percentage point change.
- Waltham Forest: Demonstrated a +2 percentage point change.
These figures tell a powerful story of resilience, targeted strategy, and positive change.
Closing the Gaps: Equity and Inclusion
The data on overall attainment is outstanding, but the real marker of an excellent education system is its commitment to equity. We are immensely proud of the work our schools are doing to close the attainment gaps for vulnerable pupils:
- Pupils with SEND: The percentage of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) achieving the Expected Standard in Reading, Writing, and Maths is high and rising, sitting far above the national average of 24%.
- Waltham Forest leads the way at 39%.
- Haringey achieved 37% (an incredible 11 percentage point change from 2019 data)
- Enfield reached 31%.
- Collectively, these results outperform the already high London average of 32%.
- Disadvantaged Pupils: Similarly, our schools are ensuring high outcomes for their most disadvantaged pupils, surpassing the national average of 48% achieving the expected standard.
- Waltham Forest achieved 63%.
- Enfield achieved 60%.
- Haringey achieved 57%, surpassing pre-pandemic levels (representing a 2-percentage point improvement since 2019).
These figures demonstrate the system investment in inclusive practice and targeted support, delivering an excellent education for every child.
The Partnership Effect: Strategy Meets Implementation
The outstanding successes seen across our member schools showcases what can be achieved when schools work together in partnership, focusing on excellence and equity. Let’s also take a moment to celebrate the incredible work that our team and partners do to support schools on their school improvement journey, including:
- Curriculum Rigour: The positive shifts align closely with the widespread adoption of high-quality, knowledge-rich curricula across our schools. The investment in projects like Opening Worlds Humanities and HEP Primary Science ensures a sequential, ambitious learning journey for every child.
- Targeted CPD: The engagement of leaders and teachers in our bespoke CPD programme has focused attention on actionable classroom practice, driving consistent improvement. Our partnership with Teaching Walkthrus has also transformed teacher confidence and craft.
- Local Support: Crucially, this success reflects the impact of our dedicated Improvement Partners and Support Partners. Their local knowledge, ongoing challenge, and strategic support ensure that ambition translates into measurable gains across our member schools.
The DfE data confirms that when schools work together, leveraging shared resources and expert support, the outcomes for children are exceptional. HEP remains dedicated to building on this momentum, ensuring our partnership continues to set the standard for educational excellence.
A huge thank you to every member of staff in our member schools for their dedication and hard work, and also to the many brilliant partners and team members at HEP who work tirelessly to make this change happen.
